O'Neill said this season has been even more challenging in terms of trying to stay competitive because all of his top ten finishes come at this track with a track that has yet to fully recover from the hurricane and flooding caused by Superstorm Sandy that devastated the area earlier this year.

"They all happened pretty early this year and it was a pretty dark, wet and nasty weekend," he said. "You got knocked out or you got caught in the mud. It's still a pretty dark place for me so I'm a little nervous going into that race, especially with the conditions."

O'Neill did not run into any issues running the race when he was a driver or competing on track, but he admitted that this weekend wasn't the most ideal one for him because he had to move over to the front of the pack and make room for younger racers and the addition of new entry.

O'Neill said that he's glad he's racing in another location without the track and that he can continue to race and compete "without the track".

"The track is going to have to do a lot of work here," he said. "It's obviously going to help me a lot because I know all the pros already know this track. But that track's a big hurdle. It takes more practice and patience to do it well. Once that's done then you can move to the other side of the track, but I just feel like we should stick together as a group."

O'Neill said he's been excited about getting off the grid for a while now. When he entered NOLA Motorsports Park the week after the Superstorm, he had a full race schedule in place. Now, he's looking forward to racing at the track for the firs
